Chris was born on March 31, 1973. He spent his childhood on a mission to figure out how things worked. Everything. Doorknobs, radios, cars, he took them all apart then put them back together. He also had a fascination with body modification, specifically tattoos and piercings. Chris knew at an early age that he would one day be a very tattooed man. Later in life, he would also discover that tattoos were an excellent way to disguise the prominent freckles that covered his body, which he tended to be self conscious about.
Chris graduated high school in 1991 and set out on his own to explore the country. He traveled as far north as Maine, to the southernmost tip of Texas, and all the way over to the Oregon coast before settling down to continue his education. It was there that he went to college and learned the printing trade. While printing paid the bills, Chris’ true interest lay elsewhere. And so, in his off time, he learned body piercing. After a couple of years spent finding himself, Chris knew it was time to head back east, to South Carolina, and build a dream.
Chris opened 2 body piercing studios in Greenville, SC. He enjoyed success as a small business owner for several years. He would travel to Atlanta, GA frequently for leisure, and over the years became familiar with Psycho Tattoo. After much consideration, he decided to accept a job opportunity with Psycho, and closed up shop. He headed back to his little hometown, and knew he had come full circle. He was ready for the next journey.
While decidedly pleased with the path his piercing career was taking, he still had an itch that needed scratched. It had held his interest since his youth, and boggled his mind. A feat of the human body that was so extraordinary, he simply had to figure it out. Chris set his mind and body on track, and over time, he mastered the art of sword swallowing. He went even further, pushing himself mentally and physically to his absolute limits. He now performs over 20 specialty sideshow acts and is the only sword swallower in the state of GA.
Chris married his longtime love and performing partner, Maybelle, in April of 2004. They have 2 beautiful daughters and reside in Douglasville, GA. Chris maintains a fulltime job at Psycho Tattoo as shop manager and head piercer.
